Denise Allison
Denise was born in Washington, D.C. and moved to Goldsboro in 1998. For the past four years, she has worked as a legal assistant to Borden Parker. In addition to her secretarial duties, Denise works closely with the child support office and county manager’s office. She also works with the Family Court manager in setting domestic matters for court. A few of her many job duties include preparing pleadings and working directly with the clients and other attorneys. Since being educated in paralegal studies at Central Texas College, Denise has worked for law firms in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Missouri. Her hobbies include working out and reading.
Drusilla Blake
Dru, a native of Norfolk, Virginia, moved to Goldsboro in 1980. She has worked at
Baddour,
Parker &
Hine P.C. for three years. Dru works as a legal assistant to Borden Parker typing juvenile orders and maintaining his juvenile and Department of Social Services files. She also maintains Mr. Parker’s Greene County files. In addition to assisting Mr. Parker, Dru works in the real estate section. She checks files for title insurance and sets up new files. Dru attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Wayne Community College. Her hobbies include reading, gardening, fishing, and boating.
Carol W. Branch
Carol was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina and moved to Goldsboro in 1980. Since 1993, she has worked as a litigation paralegal at
Baddour,
Parker &
Hine. Serving as a paralegal for the litigation team, Carol drafts documents, prepares settlement packages, prepares exhibits and organizes attorneys for trial, and manages the litigation cases. Carol received a B.A. degree in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a paralegal studies graduate certificate from Meredith College. Her hobbies include cycling, spinning, and reading.
Barbara Huff
Barbara, a native of Newton, New Jersey, has lived in Goldsboro since 1977. She has worked at
Baddour,
Parker &
Hine for 25 years. She is the legal assistant to John C. Hine, and her primary duties include estate and trust accounting, maintenance of records and filing documents with the Clerk of Superior Court. In addition, she assists in the preparation of income, estate, and gift tax returns and the preparation and maintenance of corporate documents and records. Barbara received a business diploma from Newton High School and has worked in law firms in North Carolina, New Jersey, Georgia, and California. Her hobbies include line dancing and two-stepping, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Janis McLendon
Janis is a native of Wayne County and has worked at
Baddour,
Parker &
Hine for 38 years. She served as the legal assistant to founding partner Robert Futrelle and currently is the legal assistant to Philip A. Baddour Jr. Her duties include typing correspondence, estate and trust accountings, filing, scheduling appointments, and scheduling mediations, arbitrations, and depositions. In addition to her secretarial duties, Janis is the office manager. Her hobbies include church work, gardening, fishing, and spending time with her grandchild.
Debra OVery
Debra was born in Utica, New York and moved to Goldsboro in 1992. She has been with
Baddour,
Parker &
Hine for 10 years as a real estate paralegal. Her primary duties consist of searching titles in counties across eastern North Carolina and recording documents. Debra is a former member of the United States Air Force where she attended Paralegal School and studied claims, torts, and litigation at Keesler AFB in Mississippi. Additionally, she studied law office management at Maxwell AFB in Alabama. Debra worked as a claims examiner and with military justice and civil law at Sheppard AFB in Texas, Lowry AFB in Colorado, RAF Bentwaters in the United Kingdom and was the base law office manager at McGuire AFB in New Jersey. She has a total of 10 years of legal experience with the military. Her hobbies include gardening, crafts, fishing, and her Yorkshire Terriers.
Debra J. Pender
Debra, originally from Burlington, North Carolina, moved to Goldsboro in 1973. She has worked at
Baddour,
Parker &
Hine for 21. She is currently the receptionist and part-time legal assistant. In addition to answering the telephones and greeting clients, Debra sets up files and monitors traffic, criminal, domestic violence, and collection cases. She also maintains the firm’s trust account. Before coming to the firm, Debra worked for another local attorney for six years. She received a two-year business degree from Wake Technical Institute. Her hobbies include reading and collecting recipes.
Brandy Schmitz
Brandy was born in Olean, NY and grew up in Panama City, Fl. She
moved to Goldsboro, NC in May of 2006. She began working at Baddour,
Parker & Hine as the bookkeeper and computer technician in December,
2006. She is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable,
attorney billing, and preparing documents for the CPA. She also
troubleshoots for the network and individual computer stations. Brandy
earned her AA in Accounting in July 2005 and has been working in the
field for over 8 years. Brandy enjoys the following while not at work:
Youth Leader for her church, spending time with her son, helping others,
and bowling.

Leigh Stroud
Leigh has lived in North Carolina her entire life and currently resides
in her native Johnston County. She is a graduate of Princeton High
School and received her Paralegal degree from Johnston Community College
in 1998. Her legal experience began in 1995 and includes experience with
firms in the Johnston and Wayne County areas. She has been with our firm
since 2007 and currently serves as the assistant to James W. 'Will'
Spicer, III. Her main duties include working closely with Wayne and
Green County tax offices, filing tax foreclosures and maintaining these
files and handling collection actions for various companies. In her free
time, she enjoys doing activities with her two children, spending time
with family and friends and is involved with her church.

Rebecca Wall
Rebecca is a native of Goldsboro, NC and has worked at Baddour, Parker &
Hine since 2003. She is currently a legal assistant to John C. Hine
where she helps manage estates, maintain corporate documents and
records, and assist in the preparation of income, estate, and gift tax
returns. After graduating from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2003,
Rebecca received an associate’s degree from Wayne Community College. Her
hobbies include cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.
